Our Mission
In the United States, Domestic violence is one of the primary causes of homelessness for women and children.
On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. In one year, this equates to more than 10 million victims.
This doesn't include victims of mental or verbal abuse, or the millions of children who experience this abuse.
Our mission is twofold: to increase awareness of the experience that millions of our neighbors and community members go through each year, and to increase support for Survivors who deserve to celebrate birthdays, holidays and going back to school.
The Founder of The Treasure Bag is a Survivor of Domestic Violence along with her two children. As a parent, the inability to provide a magical experience for your kid's birthday, going back to school, trick or treating on Halloween, or celebrating the Holidays is a feeling that we wouldn't wish on any family. For this reason, our Founder is now a certified Domestic Violence Counselor and started our mission of ensuring that every Survivor knows that they are treasured.
